Got milk? Got the desire to learn more about where milk comes from, too? Why not try dairy judging? It's one of the "udderly" fine contests offered for youth in Florida, and many youth interested in dairy find success through examining and evaluating udders and underlines through the evaluation of dairy cattle.

Dairy judging requires youth to evaluate classes of heifers and cows based on confirmation, breed character, udder structure and perceived milking ability to place the animals first through fourth. Youth are also often required to give written or oral reasons defending their placings using writing or public speaking skills.

Other dairy contests, such as quiz bowls, skillathons and junior dairy management contests are also held around the state.

This contest is offered on the local level, and state and national levels for both 4-H and FFA, through the State 4-H Dairy Judging and Quiz Bowl Contests and the State FFA Dairy Evaluation CDE.
