During their first time at the county fair, many youth and adults alike who started showing livestock at an early age remember showing poultry (or rabbits) in the small animal barn. Some move on to bigger (or beefier) things, and animals, and others enjoy showing fine feathered creatures throughout their show careers.

While commercial poultry production is the largest in the state to our north, Georgia, Florida has a sizable amount of youth and adults alike who have poultry as backyard hobbyists and show fanciers of one of the most well-known farm icons. Poultry projects are also a favorite project of many youth for its ease, nominal cost and potential for reward.

If following a traditional format, poultry shows commonly include divisions for Bantam and standard size chickens, waterfowl, turkeys and other fowl, such as guineas and pheasants. Each division is further broken up into classes, based on world origin for standards, breed characteristics for Bantams, by weight for waterfowl and by species for other fowl. Many shows also offer showmanship contests and other fun events for youth.

Listed on this page are poultry shows open to all youth (or all adults, too) in Florida, unless otherwise stated, and are non-terminal (all animals return to the farm of the exhibitor after the show), most contain classes for chickens and waterfowl, and others may offer classes for other fowl depending upon the show. Only shows located in Florida are listed here.
